The area is so vulnerable, in fact, that New Jersey offers a Hurricane Preparedness Guide to its citizens, and recommends installing storm shutters over all exposed windows and other glass surfaces as one of the easiest and most effective ways to protect your home. They recommend that you cover all windows, French doors, sliding glass doors and skylights with hurricane shutters.
